Under 11

HPR U11s (school year 6) are coached by Mike Cameron (profile below).

We train on Wednesday evenings at Heath Park 5-6pm (Winter training at Cardiff High) and play our matches on a Saturday morning.

Please note, we can only accept players who can provide a Cardiff postal address.

Our U11’s squad is currently full. However, we continue to take details of children wishing to join at this level.   If your child is currently in Year 6 and would like to join Heath Park Rangers, please email your child’s name, date of birth and postal address to liz.burris@btinternet.com.  Please cc our club secretary johnbutler22@hotmail.com.  As soon as we have sufficient coaches to expand these squads, we will contact you to register your child.   As the club is run solely by volunteers, priority will be given to those players whose parents volunteer to support the club.

Please note, we can only accept players who can provide a Cardiff postal address address.

Should you be interested in volunteering as a coach at this level, we would be delighted to welcome you as part of our U11 coaching pool.  The number of children who can join the club is largely dependent on the number of willing parent volunteers who step forward to support their child, and others.  At this level, coach training involves 2 days training over 2 weekends, it is held locally and the cost if covered by the club.  If you would like to be involved in this rewarding role, please contact johnbutler22@hotmail.com for more information.

COACH PROFILE

Mike Cameron arrived in Wales to train in Physical Education at UWIC in 1993. Whilst there he played football for UWIC, competing in a number of highly successful squads, winning championships at all levels of the Welsh League and the British Universities Cup.  He also made appearances for Caldicot Town and Porthcawl Town in Welsh League Divisions I and II.

He has coached at all age groups from U12 to U19 at Lewis School Pengam, winning numerous County Cups at all age groups, as well as the Welsh Schools U14 Cup in 2010 and runners up in the British Cup at U14 level later that year. He has coached at County level with Caerphilly Schools U15 Academy and currently holds a UEFA ‘B’ Licence.

“My philosophy of coaching is to try and develop each player’s physical, technical, tactical and psychological skills through well planned and thoughtful training sessions. My emphasis is on effort and team work allowing each player to enjoy the game of football. I am looking forward to working with the young players at HPR and developing their health, fitness and football skills”.
